Postnatal Support

Postpartum is a quest back to yourself.
Alone in your body again. You will never be the same, you are stronger than you were.
— Amethyst Joy

I support mothers through the ups and downs of the 4th trimester, adjusting to life with your newborn baby and their constant development and changing patterns.

I can support you with establishing feeding- breastfeeding or bottle feeding (or a combination)- by offering guidance if you do not feel confident with your latch and other method (expressing and bottle feeding).

I can help you to get some rest and feel a little more “normal” again, by providing that breathing space during my visits, when I can take over the load of caring for your baby and your household.

I come to care for you.
I can be a listening ear after a challenging night. I can cook warm and nutritious meals, or bring you copious amounts of snacks and cups of tea. Depending on where you are at, I may even offer you some relaxation, reiki, and we can plan for you to receive an abdominal Abyanga (ayurvedic oil massage), and/ or Bengkung belly binding, to aid your recovery.

As a postnatal doula I respond to your needs in your 4th trimester. Whether you need help hanging and folding your laundry, re-organising baby’s wardrobe or being shown how to carry baby in your sling, we are there on your side.

Depending on the circumstances, I also can recommend, signpost or help you gain access to any additional specialist support and services you or you baby may need.

I am DBS checked and hold a full insurance.

What postnatal services do I offer?

  • The first six weeks after birth are a time of profound change for the new mother and your baby. Feeding patterns evolve, your body begins to heal, and you start finding your rhythm as a new parent.
I often witness the six-week mark as being a turning point or milestone for mothers: growing confidence and a deeper connection with your baby, often manifesting as a clearer understanding of your baby’s cues and needs, and your days starting to have a rhythm.

As your doula, I’m here to support you through this tender period—offering guidance, reassurance, and practical help so you can rest, recover, and focus on bonding with your baby.

Together we will assess whether you would like me to visit you more often over the first 2-3 weeks.

Depending on your circumstances (lack of immediate family support, partner going back to work etc), you may still need to continue being supported by a doula throughout your 4th trimester. Some parents feel they are not ready to end our journey there, and you I can continue to visit you until the end of your 4th trimester. I can also support you getting a different type of childcare &maternity support.
