Hello there, I’m Joséphine. Antenatal educator and birth doula.
I have a rich network of birth professionals that can support us outside of our work together. Having worked for the Sussex Maternity Systems (NHS), I have a concrete insight of the maternity systems and services, as well as their current challenges.
I believe this makes me a better advocate.
Over the years, I have developed a concrete birth advocacy toolkit to help parents navigate their birth.
I see my role as the person who can bridge the gap between consultants (guided by NHS pathways), and your personal interests and circumstances, who have a right to a positive, autonomous and empowered birth, by enabling you reflection and self-exploration.
I have worked with women with a history of trauma (sexual, birth, baby loss, emotional and physical), and I am trained to hold space sensitively for these experiences, and the challenges these may bring into your pregnancy and birth. I am also qualified as a meditation teacher and in TRE (trauma release exercises).
Before becoming a birth doula, I ran workshops for women having experienced a baby or pregnancy loss. I have a particular awareness and ability to hold space in this area, and understand the challenges of PAL (pregnancy after loss).
Whoever you are, and whatever your circumstances, I am devoted to support you on your journey to birth.
I offer a free initial consultation so that you can assess whether I would be the right doula for you.
I am passionate about my clients advocacy, and I endeavour to help you through one of life’s most significant times.
As a faithful companion, I am here to guide and support you, practically and emotionally, for any arising situations during pregnancy, birth, and through to postpartum; Whilst enabling you self-exploration and personal growth.
As a birth doula, my role is also to be your voice during birth, when you may not have the words necessary. I would have taken the time to get to know you and your partner, your values, choices and preferences.
I support and guide you antenatally, to find out what is right for you, and provide the information you need to make informed decisions.
