A few of my past clients’ testimonials
“ Thank you for all your help and support in lead up to birth, and over the past 3 days. Working with you has massively helped us to feel strong and autonomous in our birth choices, and to take a lot of confidence and conviction into a birth setting which obviously wasn't our first choice.
Even though the road ended up with lots of twists and turns, I feel super positive about how it all went and how decisions and choices were managed 🥰 My worries about feeling rushed or coerced into unwanted intervention - didn't happen at all, and I'm so glad I was able to work within my body's natural strength for so long. Thank you for helping so much with this confidence. ”

“ I would not have had a home birth as planned, had Josephine not been with us.
It was a beautiful experience.
I feel happy tears every time I think about the day my daughter was born.
Josephine made sure I had my dream labor and every aspect we had discussed for birth plan was respected.
To me she is like a guardian angel helping to bring new souls to this world safely and peacefully. ”

“ I wanted to message you to say how powerful it was to have you with us during the labour and birth of Rose.
It’s hard to describe what profound impact it had on me to be supported by your kindness, calmness, knowledge and experience. I feel like having you there enabled me to stay calm and strong throughout the labour and birth, even when things happened differently to how I expected.
I have only positive and beautiful memories of the birth, which could have felt scary towards the end.
I will never forget your help, and wanted you to know what an incredible job you are doing and how much it has meant to me, Pete and Rose.
Thank you again from all of us.”

“ I felt a huge relief once Josephine joined us in the hospital. She was a rock of support, a familiar face and so much more. For me it was reassuring to have her in the room with us because I knew she understood us and our wishes and that she would be an advocate for us where possible.
When she joined us, we had already been in the hospital for over 12 hours and it was fantastic for me to see her because it meant I could mentally and physically take a break. I knew my wife Trish would be in safe hands while I rested and I know it was a big mental boost for Trish to see Josephine arrive.
Throughout the labour the three of us worked as a team in unity. Josephine knew and respected our wishes and did the best she could to make sure we had the most positive birth experience. Our birth did not happen the way we had imagined or hoped it would but because of Josephine it was still a positive experience.
She gave so much passion and wonderful guidance to us and I know that I will forever be grateful to her and am glad that she could share in our birth experience. She is a wonderful doula and if we were ever to have another child I wouldn’t hesitate in picking her as our doula again."

" Josephine was a big support to my husband and I, always providing us with information.
She was very efficient from day one. She always made me feel comfortable and understood my needs.
She stayed with me much longer than I expected at hospital, which made a huge difference and was a big help!!
Josephine is a kind and lovely human being, and she was a big part of our life-changing journey... I cannot recommend her enough."

“ We are so grateful that we chose Josephine to be our birth doula.
She supported us through a pregnancy after loss and was mindful of our previous poor experiences.
She was amazingly thorough (far outdoing the NCT course we attended) in helping us prepare for labour, birth and the early weeks of infant care. She was very responsive, answering all our questions.
Josephine is very knowledgeable, was always respectful of our wishes and helped us to advocate for ourselves when our planned homebirth ended up as an induced assisted delivery in the hospital. Her support postnatally was also invaluable. She provided amazing breastfeeding advice and was always willing to go the extra mile to provide resources tailored to our specific needs.
From a mental health perspective, she also helped us process the birth, including a debriefing and supporting us to find resources.
We have no hesitation in recommending her and feel lucky that she attended the birth of our daughter. "

“I am SO pleased we were able to have Joséphine with us for the birth of our daughter. Even though though it didn’t all go to plan, it was still an entirely positive experience and I think things would have been very different had it just been me and my husband.
I went into labour early one morning, a week before my due date and the plan had always been to have birth at home if possible. My husband called triage mid morning but was told that the home birth service was not available that day due to staff shortages. Joséphine told us not to panic and, with her there, we felt confident to carry on labouring at home in the pool (in the hope that a home birth team might become available later. By 5.30 it became clear that this wasn’t to be, so we chose to transfer in to hospital around 6.30. Our daughter was born in the pool an hour later.
With Josephine’s help and support, we were able to spend 14 out of 15 hours at home, which was the best possible outcome available to us on the day. It also allowed all other aspects of the birth plan to continue (e.g. for example pain relief), which may have been a different story had we transferred earlier in the day.
We couldn’t have asked for better care and support on such a life-changing day - thank you so much Josephine! "
